ACES International Minor

The ACES International Minor

Adding value to your degree!

As a student enrolled in any college on campus you now have the opportunity to complete the ACES International Minor and have that qualification recorded on your transcript. This minor will help you prepare for life and work in a global society and will provide the international skills employers expect from our graduates.

While it is the intent of this minor to encourage students to spend time abroad and to develop proficiency in a foreign language, neither is required. As a student enrolled in this minor you will be able to draw on resources outside the college as well as select courses offered by the seven departments in the College of ACES. At least six hours must come from 400 level courses. At least 12 of the total of 21 credit hours required for this minor must come from College of ACES courses.

This minor is administratively based in ACES Academic Programs and student advising will take place in that unit. Dean Bohn will work with you to plan a program of study that consists of a coherent pattern of coursework and other experiences, usually having a geographic or disciplinary focus, drawing on offerings from each of the following three broad areas:

  1. Global Study in the Social Science Disciplines
  2. Global Study in the Natural Science Disciplines
  3. Regional Specialization

Steps to take if you want to complete the International Minor in ACES

  1. Look at the more detailed description of the international minor.
  2. You must declare the minor in your college once you have completed at least 60 credit hours (junior standing). Do so no later than 5:00 p.m. of the first day of classes in the term of your graduation. ACES students declare the minor in 104 Mumford Hall.

(Forms and brochures are also available as printouts in 109 Mumford Hall)
